A little girl and her mother were driving in a car. Her old dog just recently died, she held the box with her collar in it. she turns to him and asks. "Mommy, if we die, can we talk to animals that have died?" The mother looks at her quickly with a sweet face.
"Yes hun, and they can talk back." She told her daughter confidently. "So once you pass on, you can talk to Milly again." She added.
All of a sudden the car was hit. The mother didn't survive.
A few months later, the little girl got a new dog. She loved him, but he was never as good as Milly. She then recollected what her mother told her before she died. She ran upstairs and grabbed her old collar.
Bringing the dog outside she sat it down on the grass. She strode over to the tool shed. Grabbing a hammer she went back to her new dog.
Taking off his collar she put on Milly's old collar. Kissing the dog on his head.
--
Softly she asked the dog, "say hi to mommy for me." And swung the hammer.
